- This presentation is an example of the
graph created by the frequency analysis option (FAO). It shows noise on a 60hz
voltage line at an industrial site . As you can see, this noise
is well above the 50th harmonic (3,000 Hz) and it will not show up when
capturing a
waveform. Nevertheless, frequency content in this region can have
important impacts on power systems. Since the heating effect of a
given current increases with the frequency, very small currents can
have large heating effects.
