AMD Diagnostic Software for Motor Performance and Reliability featuring MCSA (Motor Current Signature Analysis)
This add-on software option for the PowerSight PS4000/PS4500 power quality analyzers allows for fast on-line evaluation of a motor without having to power the motor down. It combines the power analysis capabilities of the PowerSight meters with the powerful software developed by EMPATH - the proven on-line motor diagnostics software. The AMD option incorporates Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) in order to evaluate motors and their driven loads while the motor is running. MCSA runs through a complete frequency analysis of motor current from 0 to 5000 Hz and then analyzes it using complex algorithms in order to detect the dynamic operating characteristics of the motor and its load.
Predictive Maintenance to Prevent Downtime
Use the AMD software to avoid costly down time, loss of service, unnecessary repairs, and time-consuming maintenance activities. Works with all types of motors including induction, synchronous, DC, wound rotor, and induction with VFD type motors can be evaluated. Perform checks on a regular basis to spot trends and track the deterioration of motor performance that indicates an approaching failure as a predictive maintenance strategy.
Evaluate Motor Performance while Motor is Running for Comprehensive Diagnostics Under Dynamic Conditions
You can evaluate motors without taking them off line by taking a brief measurement of voltage and current with a PowerSight PS4000 or PS4500 at motor connection terminals or at motor control centers (MCC). Evaluation testing can be done in as little as 3 minutes per motor, then the software creates a report in few minutes more. The AMD software diagnoses a wide range of motor problems: Rotor/armature health, stator mechanical/electrical health, field coil faults, bearing health, eccentricity, loose connection problems, etc.
Measure motor efficiency and torque on your induction motors. An extensive database of motor models listing rotor bars and stator slots allows checking of running speed, slip, pole passing frequency, de-rating factor, and slot counting. Diagnose problems with the driven load. Detects misalignment, unbalance, looseness, bearing damage, belt passing, gear meshing, gear and belt faults.
